As part of Daimler’s IT strategy “Data is the New Oil”, Bertram started the Big Data swarm for Bill-of-Material data in 2016. Using Tableau, the group was quickly able to deliver several data products to support initiatives like reduction of not required product variants and reduction of material cost. Bertram plays a vital role in influencing the approach and strategy in those initiatives: He uses data visualisation to validate or correct assumptions and generate new insights, which in turn provide new ideas for further opportunities.
